Kootenai River Outfitters is located in the heart of the Cabinet Mountains of Northwest Montana .

Though we are well off the beaten path reaching us is easier than you might think.

Major airlines service Kalispell and Missoula MT as well as Spokane WA .
Drive time to the KRO Guest Ranch is approximately 2 ½ to 3 hours from any of those cities.

From Kalispell MT take Highway 2 west for approximately 105 miles to Highway 56 and the Fly Shop
(15 miles west of Libby). The Guest Ranch is located 13.5 miles south on Highway 56 between
Mile Markers 23 and 22. Turn right on Doonan View Dr and follow signs.

From Missoula MT take I-90 west to Highway 93. Go north approximately 27 miles to Highway 200. Head west on Highway 200 approximately 106 miles to Highway 56. Turn Right (North) and go 22.5 miles to Doonan View Dr on your left between Mile Markers 22 and 23. Then follow signs. The Fly Shop is located 13.5 further North on the corner of Highways 56 and 2.

From Spokane WA take I-90 East approximately 30 miles to Highway 95 in Coeur d'Alene ID. Go North approximately 46 miles through Sandpoint ID to Highway 200. Head East for approximately 42 miles to Highway 56. Turn Left (North) and go 22.5 miles to Doonan View Dr on your left between Mile Markers
22 and 23. Then follow signs. The Fly Shop is located 13.5 further North on the corner of Highways 56 and 2. Alternately you may continue on Highway 2 North in Sandpoint ID through Bonners Ferry ID to Troy MT and the junction of Highways 56 and 2 and head south as per directions above.

Groceries, Gas, and Supplies:

The town of Troy approximately 20-25 minutes from the Ranch has all amenities that any one could ever need. But depending on your route you may want to stop for supplies before arriving. Good places to do that will be Libby MT on Highway 2 from the east, Thompson Falls MT on Highway 200 from the south east and Sandpoint ID on Highway 95 from the southwest. The above listed towns and areas are also the last areas for cell phone coverage. Though there are some spotty areas of service along these routes for the most part cell service is non existent except in the larger towns.
